Meade 8" Equatorial Wedge for LX90
Meade Equatorial Wedge- for long exposure astrophotography and imaging with Meade 8" LX90 and LX200 models. Required for astrophotography and imaging exposures longer than about 5 minutes. The Equatorial Wedge is is used in between a normally alt-azimuth mounted telescope and its tripod to accomplish the tilt which would otherwise be accomplised by having an equatorial mount. This tilt matches the observer's latitude, and permits the precise polar alignment of your telescope as required for long exposure astrophotography. This eliminates an effect called field rotation, where stars appear in completed photographs as an arc, trail or streak. Die cast aluminum wedges include fine adjusters, no-tool knobs, and a compass for faster aligning on the pole. Comes with LX90 Adapter Plate (not shown). For use with Meade Field Tripods as supplied with all compatible models.
