The Orion SkyView Pro 80ED APO Refractor Telescope combines the best value in high-end refractors today with the stability and precision of our SkyView Pro equatorial mount — for one very attractive price.

The 600mm (f/7.5) optical system provides sharp resolution and a wide field of view, both great for film or digital astrophotography. Its fully multi-coated objective doublet, with one element crafted from FPL-53 extra-low dispersion "ED" optical glass, provides images that are strikingly sharp and free of chromatic aberration.

Orion has outfitted the Orion SkyView Pro 80ED APO Refractor Telescope's 2" Crayford-type focuser with a 2" mirror star diagonal. It accommodates 2" or 1.25" telescope eyepieces, and we include two 1.25" Sirius Plossls plus an 8x40 finder telescope.

Use  Astronomy and terrestrial close × Telescopes can have multiple uses depending on their design. Refractors and Cassegrains can provide a "correct-image" view, so they can be used for daytime land viewing as well as astronomy. Reflectors render the image upside down so they are not recommended for daytime viewing. This is not an issue for astronomy, however, because there's no "right-side up" in space.
