Introducing the new DSI III
It combines ease-of-use with a 1.4 megapixel chip, higher resolution, wider field of view and lower thermal noise. Meade engineers have invented a remarkable new way to reduce noise without a cooling fan. This means you can stack exposures for hours at a time. The thermal monitoring sensors automatically match your dark frames to ambient temperature so it’s nearly impossible to take an uncalibrated picture. The software includes a zoom feature for easier focusing and the square pixels of the new larger chip make processing simpler and images more beautiful than ever. With extremely low noise, the DSI III is the world's best un-cooled astro imager.
- DSI III's extremely low thermal noise allows it to out-perform cooled cameras costing nearly twice as much. Increased resolution without interpolation.
- DSI III uses a 1.4MP Color Sony ExView HAD™ CCD that features a large 2/3", 1360 x 1024 pixel, image sensor with a 16-Bit A/D converter. The DSI PRO III uses the monochrome version of this sensor.
- A final image that is nearly 4 times larger than previous DSIs.
- The DSI III's electronics and sensor provide progressive scan in place of interlaced scan which produces outstanding planetary and lunar images.
- Newer version of Envisage™ camera control software with new and enhanced features.
- Optional 2x2 binning makes the III imager 4x more sensitive.

LPI Imager combines the power of electronic astronomical imager/autoguider with the simplicity of a web cam. It is easy to operate and fun to use, providing real-time images on a PC screen of prominent crowd pleasers like Moon craters, planetary surface phenomenon, brighter deep-space objects and interesting terrestrial detail. The LPI is a sophisticated imager with Magic Eye software-assisted focusing, automatic and manual exposure control, automatic multiple exposures, automatic selection of best images, automatic alignment of multiple images and stacks them into one superior image, and also functions as an autoguider for long-exposure astro-images.
